Hi, I'm Michelle Kaiser and I'm excited to be the 5th grade teams science and social studies teacher! It is my desire to be a positive influence with the students, families, and teachers at Hard Elementary as we work together to ensure the academic success of every student. This is my 31st year in education, my 3rd year with Bessemer City Schools, and my 3rd year at Hard Elementary.
I grew up in Birmingham, attended Alabama School of Fine Arts and graduated from John Carroll. After high school I attended Auburn University where I graduated with a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Right after college I moved to Atlanta and married my college sweetheart. During our 16 years in Atlanta we had 3 children and it became "home" to us in many ways. My teaching experience in Atlanta included PreK, Kindergarten and 5th grade in a couple of amazing school districts. After we moved back to Alabama I taught Kindergarten, 1st grade and 6th grade in Hoover.
My husband and I love spending time with our 3 children. Our oldest son is attending law school at the University of Georgia, our daughter just graduated from Auburn and is a 5th grade teacher at Westhills, and our youngest son is studying welding at Lawson State. My own children are very diverse in their learning styles and educational needs, so I love the opportunity to work with children from diverse needs and backgrounds to help them grow in their academic abilities.
I look forward to another great year at Hard Elementary!
