Bio

Hi, I’m Michelle Kaiser, and I am thrilled to begin my first year as the Local Reading Specialist at Charles F. Hard Elementary School! After seven incredible years as a 5th-grade teacher, I am excited to step into this new role, where I will work closely with students, families, and teachers to foster a love for reading and ensure the academic success of every scholar at Hard Elementary.

I grew up in Birmingham, attended Alabama School of Fine Arts and graduated from John Carroll High School. After high school I attended Auburn University where I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. I soon moved to Atlanta where my teaching experience included PreK, Kindergarten and 5th grade in a couple of amazing school districts. After 16 years I moved back to Alabama and taught Kindergarten, 1st grade and 6th grade in Hoover.

My favorite thing to do is spend time with my 3 children. My oldest son is an attorney in Georgia, my daughter is a 3rd grade teacher at Greenwood Elementary, and my youngest son is a welder in Birmingham. My own children are very diverse in their learning styles and educational needs, so I love the opportunity to work with children from diverse needs and backgrounds to help them grow in their academic abilities.

I look forward to another great year at Hard Elementary!
