Hello and welcome to my page!
I am Miss Miller, and I am ecstatic to teach here at Hard Elementary School. I've had the pleasure of teaching since gaining my dual Bachelor's in general education and special education in the year 2018 from the University of South Alabama.
Throughout my college career, I maintained the dean's list, completed various volunteering opportunities at surrounding Mobile schools and the Mobile Bay Area Food Bank, and I also served children and adults with disabilities in 3 rural communities within the city of Mobile.
Since the start of my career, I have served children with mild and severe learning disabilities in Bessemer City Schools, Birmingham City Schools, and Tuscaloosa City Schools. In the year 2020, I received recognition in Birmingham City for student engagement on the platform Moby Max.
While serving in these districts, I held the following positions: 6th Grade Special Education Instructor (Bessemer City Middle School 2019-2020), K-5 Collaborative Education instruction (2020-2021), and 6th Grade Collaborative Educator (2021-2022). I've decided to embark on a new journey in general education with your scholars in order to elevate, educate, and empower them to be rounded adults.
About Me
I love a multitude of things. I am the 7th of my siblings, and I am the caregiver for both of my parents. I graduated from Oak Mountain High School in the year 2014. A few of my hobbies are spending time with my dog, traveling with family, gardening, nature viewings, theatre, dance, hiking, fishing, crafting, creating art and furniture, and technology.
I am interested in volunteering in underserved communities, serving at-risk children, serving those with special needs and socioeconomic challenges, and animal rights. I love anything outdoors, and I love to get my hands dirty building in the community and assisting the elderly population in the Birmingham Metropolitan area.
