Bio

My name is Dr. Yolanda D. Williams. This year begins my 32nd year in education. I have been the school Counselor here at C. F. Hard Elementary for 17 years. I also taught 7th and 8th grade Reading and Language Arts for 15 years at RichardArrington, Jr. Middle School. I am Highly Qualified in 7th - 12th grade Reading and Language Arts. Throughout my career I have been the building test coordinator, ARI facilitator, 504 Coordinator, National Jr. Honor Society sponsor, and middle school cheerleaders sponsor. 

I am a proud product of  Bessemer City Schools. I am a 1985 graduate of Jess Lanier High School.  I received a Bachelor's in Secondary Education (LA) from Miles College, a Masters in School Counseling from Alabama State University, an Ed. S in School Counseling from University of the Cumberland's, and an Ed.D in Educational Leadership from Liberty University.  

I am a Bronze, Silver, and Gold recipient of the Recognition of Accountability, Verification, and Excellence (RAVE) award given to school Counselors for successfully implementing the four components of the American School Counselor Association's national counseling model. I am a member of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. 

I am married to my best friend. We are the proud parents of three energetic young adults.  Jamarius, Jai'Brion, and Jabreia. They keep us busy with singing engagements and volleyball games. When I'm not relaxing with my family, you can catch me surfing the net or watching my favorite shows on tv.
